Several major projects underway in NE Bend
On the corner of NE Paula Drive and Donegon Road in Bend, just off Purcell Boulevard, lots of dirt is getting pushed around.
It’s the start of a project called Park Terrace that will eventually be a 12-lot subdivision.
The subdivision will include a combination of single-family homes, duplexes and triplexes, Tim Vezie with Central Oregon Builders explained Monday.
“Well, you’ve got 26 units, so out of that, we’ll get 26 different families or individuals et cetera,” Vezie said. “We know it’s a good market. We think we’re at a good price point. This is what we call an in-fill project that should be successful in this area.”
The foundation has yet to be laid, but when it is, the units will go up for sale.
“This is not an apartment project, it is a ‘for a sale by owner’ project, Vezie said. “But sometimes you’ll find a person who will end up buying a triplex or duplex and may want to rent out one of the sides.”
At the intersection of 27th Street, Watt Way and Mary Rose Place, there is another lot that looks like a construction site, but it’s actually a construction staging yard for the city’s continuing 27th Street sewer line project.
Only about a block away from that, at Watt Way and Medical Center Drive, is another construction site.
It’s called The Alexander, and when it’s finished, it will be a 136-unit independent living facility for seniors.
Project managers are hoping it will be finished by the fall of 2018, so people can be living in it by the holidays.
