Keizer man gets life in prison, parole for stabbing death
SALEM, Ore. (AP) – A Keizer man has been sentenced to life in prison with the possibility of parole after 25 years for stabbing another man to death following a bar confrontation and car crash.
The Statesman Journal reports that 27-year-old Darnell Harris was convicted of killing 32-year-old Andrew Ramon of Gervais, tampering with a witness and soliciting the murder of a witness.
Salem police found Ramon dead behind the wheel of a vehicle in November 2016, but investigators found he actually died after being stabbed multiple times.
Harris is accused of following Ramon in a vehicle after they had a confrontation at a bar. Authorities say Ramon crashed into a tree while being followed, and Harris approached the crash and stabbed him while he was in the vehicle.
Harris pleaded guilty to murder Sept. 29.
