Westbound Neff Road to close for sewer line work

KTVZ

Starting next week, the westbound lane of Neff Road from Medical Center Drive to Purcell Boulevard will close for two to three months for sewer line construction, Bend city officials said Monday.

During the construction, eastbound traffic will remain open on Neff Road. Westbound traffic will be detoured to either Highway 20 or Butler Market Road.

Additionally, beginning the night of Sunday, December 3, Neff Road will be closed in both directions at night from Purcell Boulevard to Williamson Boulevard for approximately three to four weeks. During the night work, the intersection of Neff Road and Purcell Boulevard will remain open, but Neff Road will be closed in both directions from Purcell to Williamson and traffic will be detoured via Purcell or 27th Street.

Please drive carefully in this area and follow posted detour routes, officials said.

The best access to St. Charles Bend will be off Purcell Boulevard or on Neff Road at Medical Center Drive.

Coinciding with the Neff Road lane closure, Purcell Boulevard will reopen next week.

The Neff/Purcell Sewer Line is the final phase of the Southeast Interceptor, which has progressed along 27th Street. The Neff/Purcell Sewer line segment connects the Southeast Interceptor to the existing sewer collection system. The Neff/Purcell Sewer Line website has additional information about the project.

Officials said the Southeast Interceptor will relieve sewer pipeline capacity issues around Bend, allow the city to decommission energy-consuming sewer pump stations, and create availability of gravity sewer service to some unsewered properties.

Additional information about the city’s wastewater collection pipeline improvements is available on the Southeast Interceptor website or by calling the project hotline at 458-202-7349.
