KIDS Center, Bend businesses partner for ‘Giving Tuesday’
KIDS Center, Central Oregon’s only child abuse intervention center, has teamed up with six local businesses in the Bend area for their second #GivingTuesday campaign.
Since 2012, #GivingTuesday has kicked off the giving season, annually following Black Friday and Cyber Monday. #GivingTuesday has become one of the biggest fundraising days for nonprofits around the world, raising $168 million dollars online last year. #GivingTuesday’s unique message promotes philanthropy that is specific to the donor, encouraging each to give in their own way, whether that is through time, goods, money, or their voice.
Since its inception in 1994, KIDS Center has been a grassroots effort – built by the community, for the community.
Shelly Smith, KIDS Center’s Executive Director, shares:
“As a private non-profit which receives no taxpayer funding, KIDS Center has been able to continue the prevention, evaluation, and treatment of child abuse through individual and corporate donations and the generosity of the Central Oregon community. The #GivingTuesday partnership model continues this effort.”
Jazzercise Bend Fitness Center, Leapin’ Lizards Toy Co., Nancy P’s Cafe & Bakery, Pinnacle Architecture, PixyPics.com, and Struble Orthodontics have each chosen to partner with KIDS Center for #GivingTuesday by hosting a giving drive at their business on November 28th.

In addition to these giving drives, KIDS Center is delighted to announce that a long-time KIDS Center advocate and donor, will match #GivingTuesday donations, dollar for dollar, on November 28th.
