KTVZ

A mobile home was destroyed by fire in Metolius Sunday evening, but residents escaped unhurt and were able to save some personal items, officials said.

Jefferson County Fire District No. crews were dispatched around 7:20 p.m. to the fire in the 200 block of Adams Avenue, Captain Kasey Skaar said.

The first unit to arrive found the mobile home’s front porch engulfed in flames and the fire extending into the structure, Skaar said. All occupants were found to be out and uninjured.

A dozen firefighters, nine volunteers and three staff, quickly knocked down the fire but were on scene for 3 1/2 hours for overhaul and full extinguishing of the blaze.

The cause of the fire is under investigation, Skaar said.

Crews were assisted on scene by Jefferson County Emergency Medical Services and the Jefferson County Sheriff”s Office.
