Dog dies in motor home fire south of Redmond
No people were injured in a fire that destroyed a motor home south of Redmond early Wednesday, but firefighters found a dog’s body in a search after the blaze was extinguished, officials said.
Crews called to the fire in the 21000 block of Arid Avenue around 12:45 a.m. found an unoccupied, approximately 30-foot long RV fully involved in flames, Redmond Fire Marshal Traci Cooper said.
The fire posed no immediate threat to any other structures, she added.
A total of 26 firefighters contained the fire to the motor home and protected exposures as they put out the fire, Cooper said.
The cause of the fire is under investigation, she added. The property owner indicated the RV’s owner was not living in it.
Mutual-aid assistance was provided by the Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office and Bend Fire Department.
