Fire hits unoccupied RV S. of Sunriver

KTVZ

A fire on Wednesday destroyed an unoccupied RV in the Three Rivers area south of Sunriver, officials said.

La Pine and Sunriver firefighters responded to the fire call from neighbors shortly before noon in the 17000 block of Lodgepole Lane.

Nine firefighters responded, with one engine and two water tenders.

The first crews on scene found the 2006 Ford E450 Forest River RV engulfed in flames. Firefighters contained the fire to the RV.

The cause of the fire was under investigation.

Officials said the RV was being stored and kept warm with a portable electric parabolic infrared heater that was placed into service Wednesday morning.

There were no injuries and the vehicle was insured, officials said.

La Pine firefighters were handling several unrelated medical calls before and during the incident.
