Gunman robs NE Bend Days Inn, flees with cash
A police search including two K-9 teams failed to find a gunman who held up the Days Inn motel on Bend’s Northeast Third Street early Sunday morning, officers said.
Deschutes County 911 dispatchers notified police at 5:25 a.m. that someone had committed a robbery at the Days Inn at 849 NE Third Street, police Lt. Clint Burleigh said.
The front desk employee said the suspect displayed a handgun and took an undisclosed amount of cash, Burleigh said.
Redmond police Officer Josh Power and his K-9 partner Maverick, and Bend police Officer Kevin Uballez and his K-9 partner Kim searched the area, but the suspect was not located.
The robbery suspect was described as a white male adult in his 20s or 30s, about 5-foot-6 to 5-7, with a stocky build, wearing dark pants and a dark “hoodie'” (hooded sweatshirt). His face was covered, Burleigh said.
The Bend Police Department asked the public for help identifying a suspect in the case. Anyone with information to share is asked to call the non-emergency dispatch number, 541-693-6911.
