Bend Memorial Clinic (BMC), the largest independent multispecialty physician group in Central Oregon, announced Thursday that it is now known as Summit Medical Group Oregon – Bend Memorial Clinic.

The noteworthy change comes after the closing of a transaction establishing BMC’s new partnership with Summit Health Management, one of the nation’s leading physician owned ambulatory care management companies, the businesses announced in a news release:

Here’s the rest of the announcement:

SHM began providing administrative, clinical and financial management services to BMC on January 1, 2018. The relationship with SHM gives the medical group access to SHM’s proprietary patient care and practice management model.

“With a shared commitment to the patient, the team and the community, Summit Medical Group Oregon – BMC is poised to address emerging needs in the region,” said Jeffrey Le Benger, MD, chairman and chief executive officer of Summit Health Management. “Building upon BMC’s established presence in the Central Oregon market, Summit Medical Group Oregon – BMC will offer an expanded level of care.”

“As Summit Medical Group Oregon – BMC, we will offer enhanced services, including more primary care providers and expanded oncology services to the Bend community. We will continue to deliver on our commitment of providing patients comprehensive Total Care TM ,” said Dr. David Holloway, Chief Physician Executive.

From a patient experience perspective, the priority will be on continuity of care. The same physicians and staff will continue to provide the Bend community with medical care at the same convenient locations:
