Fire destroys motor home in Redmond homeless camp
A fire early Friday destroyed a vacant motor home at a homeless camp east of Redmond, also spreading to nearby trees before crews stopped it, officials said.
Firefighters were called to the homeless camp off East Antler Avenue around 3 p.m., Fire Marshal Traci Cooper said.
Crews arrived to find the motor home fully involved in flames and put out the fire. They were on scene for an extended time because the fire had spread to nearby trees, Cooper said.
The motor home was a total loss. The losses of the building and contents were estimated at $10,000. The owner and occupant were not known.
The cause of the fire was undetermined, Cooper said.
