Local Alert Weather – Tues. AM
Happy Tuesday morning, everyone!
This morning mild temperatures are with us as we’re seeing a warm front pass through the region. Cloudy skies are overhead, but so far we are dry. We’re in for a breezy day as winds will be out of the south gusting around 25 miles per hour. Mostly cloudy skies at times will be overhead this afternoon. Those closer to the Cascades and in higher elevations could see a chance for mixed showers around sunset.
A Winter Storm Warning is in effect for the west slopes of the Cascades for 3-7″ of snow expected down to pass level with 1-2′ of snow for higher elevations and ski resorts. Winter driving conditions will exist during this time. Please drive slowly!
The warm front will push mixed showers our way overnight tonight. We’ll wake up to some snow showers for areas in La Pine and Sunriver and just south of Bend. Lows will be mild in the mid to upper 30s. Breezy conditions are expected tonight out of the south around 15 miles per hour.
Wednesday can expect more showers than we will see for Tuesday. Wednesday will begin on a wet, slippery note with mixed showers. Snow levels Wednesday morning will be around 5,100′, then falling to 1,600′ by the evening. Temperatures will be in the low to mid 40s again before a cold front moves through.
The end of the week rounds out with cooler air and lower snow levels. Highs will top out in the upper 30s. Snow levels will be around 2,200′ Thursday and Friday. We have a chance for snow showers both days.
