Local Alert Weather – Thurs. AM

KTVZ

Happy Thursday morning, everyone!

A Winter Weather Advisory will be in place through the overnight for the west slopes of the Cascades. Snow is expected across the Cascades for the next couple of days, so know winter driving conditions will continue through the end of the week.

Central Oregon has a good chance at seeing some snow showers this morning. This afternoon we’ll get some sunshine as we’re looking at an unsettled pattern behind the cold front that moved through yesterday. Temperatures are cooler as well and we’ll top out in the low to mid 40s. The chance for snow showers kicks up again this evening, but overall we will be dry. Winds today will be out of the south and southwest around 25 miles per hour, so it will be breezy at times.

Friday also sees a slight chance for snow showers, but mainly for highest elevations and areas closer to the Cascades. Mostly cloudy skies will be overhead. Highs will be in the upper 30s and lower 40s.

A warm front approaches by the weekend. Snow levels and temperatures will rise. Daytime highs on Saturday will be in the mid to upper 40s and on Sunday will be in the low to mid 50s. Saturday will see a wet, mild system with rain showers lasting throughout the day. Sunday sees some sunshine and mild temperatures.
