Prineville trucker injured in Hwy. 26 semi rollover

A Prineville truck driver was flown to St. Charles Bend with non-life-threatening injuries after a rollover crash Thursday evening that blocked U.S. Highway 26 about 20 miles east of Prineville for about two hours, Oregon State Police said.

A semi truck hauling lumber was heading west and negotiating a corner when the trailer went onto the highway shoulder and driver Rudy Antonio Rodriguez, 58, of Prineville, lost control of his rig, OSP Sgt. Jeff Proulx said.

The truck rolled onto its side, blocking the highway, and the trailer’s load also dumped onto the roadway, he said.

Rodriguez was flown to St. Charles Bend with non-life-threatening injuries, Proulx said.

The highway was blocked for about two hours, until ODOT was able to clear a lane.

Dave’s Towing towed the semi and trailer from the scene. ODOT and the Crook County Sheriff’s Office also assisted at the crash scene.
