KTVZ

Happy Thursday evening, everyone!

We will see increasing clouds for Central Oregon tonight as the next system pushes inland. Overnight lows will be in the 20s. Winds will be out of the northwest around 10 miles per hour. Tomorrow morning will start on a cold, crisp note.

Daytime highs for Friday will be in the mid to upper 40s, which is around average. Tomorrow will see partly cloudy to mostly cloudy skies overhead. Some snow showers will begin for the Cascades by the afternoon and will be fairly consistent all weekend. Temperatures moving into the weekend will continue to warm. Winds will kick up out of the west around 15 to 20 miles per hour in the afternoon.

The chance for a few showers in Central Oregon develops overnight Friday into Saturday. Areas in higher elevations or closer to the Cascades would likely see the showers first. Saturday will see highs in the low to mid 50s. Overall, the day is expected to be windy with mostly cloudy skies and a chance for rain showers. Winds will gust out of the southwest around 35 to 40 miles per hour.

Sunday sees much cooler temperatures as the cold front will drag cold air behind. Highs will top out in the mid to upper 30s. Mostly cloudy skies are expected with the slight chance for a few snow flurries. Cold air settles in for the beginning of the week.

Know if you are traveling across the Cascades and the passes for the holiday weekend that we will see snow down to pass level. Have your chains or traction tires ready.
