Soroptimist Intl. of Bend honors 2 with ‘Live Your Dream’ award

Two recipients of the Soroptimist International of Bend “Live Your Dream” award were honored on March 17.

Sarah Palmer Antoniou is pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Natural Resources, with Fish & Wildlife option. She is the third OSU-Cascades student to win this SI Bend award.

Karra Showen is working toward dual degrees in Wildland Fire Science and Forest Resource Technology. She is a student at Central Oregon Community College and follows in the footsteps of a number of COCC Soroptimist award winners.

Each woman received $2,000.

The “Live Your Dream award may be used for any purpose that will enable the woman to stay in school and complete her education. In addition to tuition needs, it may be used for child care, books, transportation, utilities, etc.

Applicants must be head of household, financially needy women who are enrolled in a certificated program. For more information on application procedures, please see www.sibend.org.
