KTVZ

Happy Friday Central Oregon!

It was a cool and snowy day for some spots across the high desert.

And that snow is going to hang around as we make our way into the overnight hours and into Saturday.

Breezy as well with wind out of the south at 5-15 MPH and gusting up to 20 MPH.

There is a winter weather advisory in place for parts of Central Oregon and the Cascades, with 4 to 8 inches of new snow expected in the mountains.

So if you are heading over the pass for spring break be sure to expect winter driving conditions.

This system could bring with it up to 2 inches of new snow to some parts of Central Oregon, as more snow is expected to the south in the Sunriver and La Pine areas.

Snow showers should stick around through the evening and overnight tonight before they clear up on Saturday morning for a bit, bu then Saturday afternoon brings us another chance of some more snow showers.

Lows overnight tonight in the teens to 20’s, and highs tomorrow will be in the upper 30’s to low 40’s.

Things should clear up for the start of next week but stay on the cool side with highs in the 40’s, but we will see a bit of a warm up by the end of next week.

Have a great weekend!
