Local Alert Weather 0401 Sun
Hello Central Oregon!
Today has been dry, partly cloudy with breezy conditions. Things will change around 7 o’clock. A cold front is pushing into the region. It has been bringing rain showers to the valley and snow showers to the Cascades. The cold front is fairly strong and will bring a fifty percent chance of rain showers around the evening. Overnight temperatures will drop below freezing and the rain could turn to snow. It won’t be a major snow event. On top of the precipitation there will also be gusty conditions throughout the night.
Monday will still be windy, but less gusty. Winds will be up to 20 to 30 miles per hour. The cold front will make our temperatures about ten degrees below average in the mid to upper 40’s. Throughout the day our skies will begin to clear as the cold front moves off to the East.
Beginning Tuesday a warm front will move in, which will bring cloudy skies and slightly warmer temperatures. We’ll be back around average in the mid to upper 50’s for daytime highs. Some of us could reach the lower 60’s once again throughout the week. Beginning Tuesday night there’s a chance of rain that will stick around throughout the rest of the week.
The best chances of rain in the next seven days will be Thursday and Saturday. Next weekend another cold front will push through. This means temperatures will begin to dip below average, breezy conditions will return and the rain showers will continue.
