Local Alert Weather 0405

KTVZ

Hello Central Oregon!

Today we have a chance of rain showers throughout the evening. This will break up right around 7 o’clock tonight. Overnight there will be a slight chance of rain showers. We’ll remain cloudy, which will blanket the heat close to our surfaces overnight. Our overnight lows will be fairly mild in the lower 40’s.

We do have a Hydrologic Outlook to be mindful of throughout the weekend. We will have a lot of rain moving into the region. On top of that, our snow levels will be rising, which will cause the snow melt in the higher elevations. This will cause river levels to rise. The good news, it won’t make it to flood levels. The worry spot will be streams and creeks where ponding could occur. In areas where there’s steep landmasses be aware mudslides or rock slides could occur.

Tomorrow we have a fifty percent chance of rain showers throughout the afternoon. Winds are going to be on the breezy side. Winds will be up to 15 miles per hour. Daytime highs will be above average in the mid 60’s.

Saturday we’ll remain cloudy with a fairly good chance of rain showers. Saturday there could be moments of heavy rain throughout the region. Winds will also be up to about 20 to 30 miles per hour. This is all part of a cold front, which will cause our temperatures to drop just a bit into the upper 50’s.

Sunday temperatures will be cooler in the mid 50’s with cloudy skies remaining. A chance of rain showers will linger throughout the rest of the week. On Monday our temperatures will begin to rise to the upper 50’s to mid 60’s.
