North Bend School District cancels classes after threat

KTVZ

NORTH BEND, Ore. (AP) – A school district in Coos County canceled classes Wednesday because of a threatened school shooting.

North Bend Police Chief Robert Kappelman says the threat was discovered Tuesday afternoon in a bathroom at North Bend Middle School.

District superintendent Bill Yester tells The World newspaper there will be an extra police presence if schools reopen Thursday. That could change if the responsible student is found before then.
