Local Alert Weather – Fri. AM

KTVZ

Happy Friday morning, everyone!

We’re off to a cold, crisp, and frosty start across Central Oregon. One of those High Desert mornings where you need the sunglasses and a warm jacket! Temperatures are beginning in the 20s and lower 30s.

The day ahead is looking at sunshine through the afternoon. Once we get past lunchtime we’ll notice a few more clouds beginning to roll into the area. Clouds will push over the Cascades out from the west. Winds will also be out of the west around 10 to 15 miles per hour ahead of a front. Daytime highs will be warmer than yesterday and above average. We’ll top out in the mid to upper 60s.

The next front pushes in overnight, so this will deliver a few more clouds overhead this evening. Overnight tonight we can expect partly cloudy to mostly cloudy skies. Lows will be in the mid to upper 20s and lower 30s.

The Cascades will see a few light snow showers as the front falls on the mountains. Accumulations will be minimal and likely amounting to less than half an inch. Clouds will stick around overnight into early tomorrow morning.

Saturday begins with a few clouds leftover from the front passing through the region. Temperatures will begin in the mid to upper 30s. Daytime highs will warm in to the upper 50s and lower 60s, which is average. Winds will gust about 10 to 15 miles per hour Saturday afternoon. Saturday will see sunny skies by the end of the day.

Sunday could see a few more clouds overhead, but calmer conditions. Highs will be the same as Saturday in the upper 50s and lower 60s. Earth Day is also on Sunday and we couldn’t want a better day to get outside!

Have a happy & safe weekend!
