Bend’s weekly road project/traffic report, May 14-20

Here’s the city of Bend’s weekly road construction project and traffic report for May 14-20.

Special Events:

· Girls on the Run, May 12 from 9 a.m. – 11 a.m., start and finish at OSU-Cascades campus, flaggers will be stationed at the Century Drive and Colorado Avenue roundabout.

· Bend Open Streets, May 13 from 12 p.m. – 4 p.m., road closures with local access only. For event details visit: http://bendopenstreets.org/ . The following streets will experience closures:

o Delaware Avenue between Bond Street and Hill Street

o Florida Avenue between Bond Street and Hill Street

o Georgia Avenue between Bond Street and Harriman Street

o Kansas Avenue between Bond Street and Lava Road

o Staats Street between Colorado Avenue and Kansas Avenue

o Lava Road between Colorado Avenue and Kansas Avenue

o Chamberlain Street between Colorado Avenue and Georgia Avenue

o Sisemore Street between Colorado Avenue and Franklin Avenue

o Harriman Street between Colorado Avenue and Franklin Avenue

o Hill Street between Delaware Avenue and Georgia Avenue

May 14 – 20

14 th Street:

· Reconstruction Project : The roundabout at 14th and Simpson opens Monday, May 14th. Following the opening, 14th Street will then be closed to southbound traffic from just north of the roundabout to just south of Albany Avenue for continued work on the 14th Street Reconstruction project. The intersection of 14th Street/Century Drive with Knoll Ave will be also be closed. Access to businesses in this area will remain open throughout construction. Google Maps and Waze will be updated with current closures due to this project. For project and detour info: www.bendoregon.gov/14thstreet

· 14 th Street between Newport Avenue and Galveston Avenue for Cascade Natural Gas service installation, full road closure with detour in place, 5/18/18, night work from 7 p.m. – 7 a.m.

· 14 th Street between Newport Avenue and Galveston Avenue for Cascade Natural Gas main relocation, southbound lane closed with detours in place, 3/26/18 – 6/8/18.

2018 City of Bend Street Preservation ( www.bendoregon.gov/streetpreservation ) :

· Woodland Boulevard between Second Street and Third Street for grind and inlay paving work, road closure with detours, 5/14/18 – 5/16/18, 7 a.m. – 4 p.m.

· Kearney Avenue between Third Street and Fourth Street for grind and inlay paving work, road closure with detours, 5/15/18 – 5/18/18, 7 a.m. – 4 p.m.

· Fourth Street between Butler Market Road and Burnside Avenue for pavement milling and temporary striping, road closure with detour, 5/14/18 – 5/17/18, night work from 7 p.m. – 6 a.m.

· Oregon Avenue/Hawthorne Avenue between Brooks Street and Highway 97 for asphalt paving, road closure with detour, 5/14/18 – 5/15/18, night work from 7 p.m. – 6 a.m.

· Harriman Street between Franklin Avenue and Lafayette Avenue for asphalt paving, road closure with detour, 5/16/18 – 5/17/18, night work from 7 p.m. – 6 a.m.

· Lava Road between Franklin Avenue and Oregon Avenue for asphalt paving, road closure with detour, 5/17/18, night work from 7 p.m. – 6 a.m.

· Louisiana Avenue between Riverside Boulevard and Lava Road for asphalt paving, road closure with detour, 5/20/18, night work from 7 p.m. – 6 a.m.

· Idaho Avenue between Broadway Street and Wall Street for asphalt paving, road closure with detour, 5/20/18, night work from 7 p.m. – 6 a.m.

· Neighborhood east of Lodgepole Drive, south of Mahogany Street, and north of Ponderosa Street, road and lane closures for slurry seal work, 5/14/18 – 5/15/18, 7 a.m. – 5 p.m.

· Neighborhoods north of Empire Avenue, west of 18 th Street, and south of Cooley Road, road and lane closures for slurry seal work, 5/16/18 – 5/21/18, 7 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Other ongoing closures:

· Brosterhous Road between Marble Mountain Lane and Orchard Grass Place, bike lane closed for road construction and curb installation, 5/1/18 – 5/31/18.

Upcoming Closures:

· Mt. Washington Drive between Chandler Avenue and Century Drive for slurry seal work, road closure with detour, 5/21/18, 7 a.m. – 5 p.m.

· Reed Market Road between Century Drive and Alderwood Circle for slurry seal work, road closure with detour, 5/22/18, 7 a.m. – 5 p.m.

· Reed Market Road between Alderwood Circle and Chamberlain Street for slurry seal work, road closure with detour, 5/23/18, 7 a.m. – 5 p.m.

· Reed Market Road between Chamberlain Street and Bend Parkway Bridge for slurry seal work, road closure with detour, 5/24/18, 7 a.m. – 5 p.m.

· Cooley Road between High Standard Drive and 18 th Street for slurry seal work t, road closures with detours, 5/30/18, 7 a.m. – 5 p.m.
