SISTERS, Ore. (KTVZ) – A serious reportedly head-on crash closed U.S. Highway 20 east of Santiam Pass Tuesday morning.

ODOT posted a TripCheck traffic advisory shortly after 11 a.m. of the crash near milepost 83, about two miles east of the Santiam Pass summit. Motorists were advised to use an alternate route. The location is about eight miles east of Santiam Junction and 17 miles west of Sisters.

Oregon State Police and other first responders were called to the crash scene.

"This closure is likely to extend into Tuesday afternoon, and there are no local detours," ODOT said in an advisory. "Please use an alternate route or delay your trip if possible, and please watch out for emergency responders."

We have reached out to OSP, ODOT and others to get more details and will update as we can.
