BEND, Ore. (KTVZ) — Community radio station KPOV is celebrating its 21st anniversary with a Beatles Sing-Along fundraiser on June 26. The event, scheduled from 7-10 p.m. at The Commonwealth Pub in Bend, marks the return of a popular gathering after a 2-year hiatus. Tickets are currently on sale and are expected to sell out quickly.

KPOV, broadcasting at 88.9FM, began live operations as a low-power station from its studios in downtown Bend in 2005. The station's name, KPOV, stands for Point of View.

The fundraiser will feature several local bands, each performing a set of different Beatles songs. The performances will be capped off by JuJu Eyeball, described as the PNW's premiere Beatles cover band. Attendees can sing along with lyrics displayed on large TV screens throughout The Commonwealth Pub.

Beyond the musical performances, the event will include Beatles trivia, a selection of premium raffle items donated by local businesses, and a silent auction. The auction will feature biddable items, including several premium lodging packages.

KPOV operates as a 24-hour community effort. It runs with a minimal paid staff and relies on dozens of behind-the-scenes volunteers, including DJs, who donate their time and energy to the station. Today, KPOV can be streamed on its website, kpov.org, and through its free mobile app.

The station, known as High Desert Community Radio, provides locally produced music and talk shows covering a wide range of topics, including local affairs, public health, national and international news, astrology, and various music genres. KPOV is listener-supported.

Tickets for the Beatles Sing-Along are available for purchase at kpov.org.
