Jefferson County honors emergency management team

JEFFERSON COUNTY, Ore. (KTVZ) -- As we wrap up August, which is National Emergency Management Awareness Month, Jefferson County is recognizing the people working behind the scenes to keep residents informed during emergencies.

During fire season, emergency management teams work around the clock to provide updates and important information to the community. That includes coordinating with local agencies, updating evacuation maps, sending emergency notifications, and sharing updates on social media.

Jefferson County says Emergency Manager Lieutenant Bryan Skidgel and Public Information Officer Cait Linden spend countless hours making sure residents get timely and accurate information.
