BEND, Ore. (KTVZ) -- In partnership with local law enforcement, fire and emergency services departments, St. Charles Bend is planning to host a full-scale active weapon threat drill on Wednesday.

The drill is not open to the media.

Conducting drills helps the hospital and other emergency agencies train and prepare for different scenarios, as well as coordinate a response strategy, resources and communications, officials said.

If on Wednesday you notice more activity than usual at the hospital, including the presence of law enforcement and EMS vehicles, please know this is a training exercise only.
