FootZone’s 2020 Dirty Half Marathon is canceled

FootZone Dirty Half Marathon 2020 canceled

BEND, Ore. (KTVZ) -- FootZone is sad to announce that the June 14, 2020 Dirty Half Marathon has been canceled due to the ongoing COVID-19 crisis.

The Dirty Half was the first trail race in Central Oregon, and acts as a major fundraiser for local non-profit Deschutes Land Trust, which conserves land in Central Oregon.

This would have been the Dirty Half’s 19th year as a favorite of locals and visiting racers who enjoy the forested single track on the Phil’s Trail network west of Bend, and the finisher’s party - stocked and staffed by local eateries and Deschutes Brewery.  It’s the hometown feel of this race that keeps many coming back, and is a hallmark of the interconnectedness of the small business community in Bend.

In this time of uncertainty, we believe that our registered racers are best served by a clear path forward.  We will not postpone the Dirty Half to a later date in 2020.  Instead, we will look forward to the return of the Dirty Half in June, 2021!

Registered racers will receive an email with donation and refund options from race organizer Superfit Productions.  We are extraordinarily grateful to primary race sponsor Hydro Flask for stepping up to gift vessels to the first 48 runners who opt out of a refund, and thus donate their registration fee to Deschutes Land Trust!

FootZone is thankful for our connection to our community partners – Superfit Productions, Brooks Running, and Ruff Wear - and to the many local small businesses comprise the fabric of Bend and will make our collective recovery possible.
