Knopp receives Liberty Award from League of Minority Voters

BEND, Ore. (KTVZ) -- Last weekend, Sen. Tim Knopp (R-Bend) was a recipient at the 13th Annual Liberty and Hope Awards, hosted by the League of Minority Voters.

The celebratory event recognizes individuals from all walks of life who have paved a path forward for diversity and the inclusion of all Oregonians.

Senator Knopp received the 2020 Liberty Award in recognition of his outstanding contributions on behalf of our communities.

“I am honored to have received this prestigious award from the League of Minority Voters, a group with a mission that I uphold: to create a more diverse and inclusive Oregon,” Knopp said.

“What affects one person or community of people affects all of us. I have a steadfast commitment to promote fairness and inclusion for all people. Helping to pass the Oregon Voting Rights Act and other legislation will help us fulfill the promise of liberty and justice for all.”

Past recipients of this award include Phil Knight, founder of Nike; Paul De Muniz, former Supreme Court Judge; Barbara Roberts, former governor; Victor Atiyeh, former governor.
