BEND, Ore. (KTVZ) -- OSU-Cascades will host free tax preparation appointments for qualifying families and individuals through April 15.

Appointments are available between 5 and 8 p.m. on Mondays and Thursdays, and noon to 4 p.m. on Saturdays.

The program is offered through the Internal Revenue Service’s Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program, or VITA. VITA helps people who need assistance preparing their own tax returns, including families and individuals who have a household income of $65,000 or less; individuals with disabilities; those with limited English language; and those 60 years of age and older.

Volunteer tax preparers include OSU-Cascades faculty and staff, business students and community members. Volunteers are fluent in languages including Chinese, German, Spanish and Vietnamese.

Tax returns will be processed on-site during a 1 hour and 45-minute session.

For VITA appointments or to learn more, visit beav.es/VITA(Link is external) or call 541-209-6274. Clients will be informed about what to bring to their appointment.

OSU-Cascades is hosting the VITA sessions in partnership with OSU’s College of Business.
