Bend’s Cascade Lakes Brewing Co. remodels for reopening
New spacing and seating arrangements are made at restaurants
BEND, Ore. (KTVZ ) -- When we're able to dine inside at local restaurants again, you may recognize a changed environment at some of your favorite spots.
Restaurants in Bend are getting ready to reopen, and many of them are having to rearrange furniture or even remove some in order to meet Gov. Kate Brown's orders, including physical distancing.
Cascade Lakes Brewing Company on Southwest Chandler Avenue, for example, has removed tables and chairs to create more space for dining guests. The tables and walkways have been measured to ensure that the six feet distance is still maintained.
The restaurant had at least 25 tables before the closure, but now will only be operating with half of that capacity. Bar seating has also been removed from the restaurant, but guests are still able to be seated in the lounge.
Cascade Lakes General Manager Andrew Rhine said Wednesday they are working to rehire staff, but it’ll also be based on the flow of business.
“I think it's going to ask for some patience out of the customer, as well as some understanding," Rhine said. "I think most customers have -- I have confidence in most Bend and Redmond communities. I think most folks understand what is going on, as most of us are just trying to protect each other.”
Rhine said they also plan on taking advantage of the outdoor patio area and parking lot space to help guests who want to safely dine at Cascade Lakes.
