Crime Stoppers: CRR Park Vandals Sought

KTVZ

The Jefferson County Sheriff?s Office said Friday it’s looking for whoever is responsible for repeatedly vandalizing the property at Panorama Park, at Crooked River Ranch, in recent weeks.

The property is for public use, which includes the park, play structures and restrooms and landscaping, said sheriff’s Det. Starla Green.

Over the last month, the property has been vandalized repeatedly, which Green said affects the use of the park by the public and residents of Crooked River Ranch and puts on a strain on the CRR Association, which has to pay to fix the damage.

On July 8, the sheriff’s office responded and took a report of major damage to the restroom facilities, where the door screen was pried off and bent back so the suspect could crawl through and gain access to the restroom. While inside, the suspect damaged the sink by pulling it off the wall and damaging all attached hardware.

On July 18, JCSO again responded to a report of a door being vandalized.

Three days later, deputies were conducting extra patrol of the property and found that the electric box had been tampered with and wires exposed, causing there to be no lights in the area. “This also created a hazard to people and surroundings because of the exposed electrical wires,” Green said.

The sheriff?s office is seeking assistance from the public in locating the individuals that are responsible for committing this vandalism.

If anyone sees any suspicious behavior of people in the vicinity of Panorama Park, please contact the Jefferson County Sheriff?s Office Dispatch. Many of the incidents are occurring over night where there is minimal traffic.
