FBI Specialists to Review Ashland Slaying Case
Ashland police are hoping FBI specialists in high-profile serial killings can help them solve the case of the grocery clerk nearly decapitated last year along a bike path.
In July, two Ashland detectives are going to the FBI training facility in Quantico, Va., for an evaluation of the investigation into the killing of 23-year-old David Grubbs.
The Ashland Daily Tidings (http://bit.ly/L7rQW6) reports one of the FBI’s Behavior Analysis Units will hear a presentation about the investigation and give findings a few weeks later.
Chief Terry Holderness says the units usually deal with serial killings, but the violence involved in the Grubbs slaying was among the factors that drew the agency’s interest. He says he’s hoping it will yield a profile of a potential suspect.
