FBI identifies Warm Springs homicide victim
The FBI on Wednesday identified a Warm Springs man whose body was found over the weekend and confirmed he was a homicide victim, but shared no other details.
FBI spokeswoman Beth Anne Steele said the Oregon State Medical Examiner had confirmed the remains found on Sunday were those of Jonas Andrew Miller, 33, and that he was “the victim of a homicide.”
“No further information — including specifics on how Miller died — will be released at this time, for investigative reasons,” Steele said in a news release.
A joint investigation by the FBI and Warm Springs police is still under way, Steele added.
Earlier in the week, sources on the reservation told NewsChannel 21 that a hunter found a man’s badly beaten body along Trout Lake Road on Sunday.
