Deschutes Co. SO seeks owner of found horse

KTVZ

On Saturday, September 28th, during the later evening hours, the Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a wandering horse in a rural subdivision in the SE part of Bend.

The horse, nicknamed “Sundance” by the Sheriff’s Office, was transported to the Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office Livestock Rescue Facility, where it is recovering.

Anyone with information on a possible owner or with additional information regarding this horse is asked to call the non-emergency Dispatch line at 541-693-6911. Callers should reference CAD number 12-201734.

Those with a possible claim of ownership will be asked to provide additional descriptive information on the horse.

NOTE: Although very similar in size, coloration and breed, this is NOT the same horse (nicknamed “Maverick”) that was found wandering at large on China Hat Road near the end of July, 2012, and the subject of an earlier media release.
