Police training in Bend aids Sparrow Clubs

The City of Bend Police Department hosted an I.A.L.E.F.I ® (International Association of Law Enforcement Firearms Instructors ® ) Regional Training Conference September 23rd – 26 th . This training conference drew 70 participants and 21 instructors from every western state, New York, New Jersey, and British Columbia.

During this event, the Bend Police Department worked in cooperation with the Sparrow Clubs of Bend to host a raffle and shooting competition between the firearms instructors, to raise money for the Sparrow Clubs. The fundraiser was made possible by the generous donations from the following individuals and businesses:

At the end of the training conference, $3,224 was raised for Sparrow Clubs of Bend.

I.A.L.E.F.I ® is a membership organization which was organized in 1981 by a group of firearms instructors. They recognized the need for a way to update and modernize the instruction and teaching techniques being used to train the majority of law enforcement officers.
