Postal Service hiring holiday workers

The United States Postal Service is hiring temporary employees to work at mail processing facilities in Portland, Eugene, Salem, Medford and Bend during the upcoming holiday mailing season.

The non-career positions pay $11 an hour and provide no benefits. The number of hours assigned will depend on mail volume and all positions will work during late-night shifts.

Interested parties must apply for the positions online at the Postal Service’s website: www.usps.com/employment. Click on “Search our latest job openings,” type in keyword “Casual 07” and select Oregon to find available positions in the state.

The deadline to apply is Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2012.

All applicants must be at least 18 years of age at the time of hire (or age 16 with a high school diploma) and be a U.S. citizen or have permanent alien status.
