Open riding in the Indoor Arena at the Crook County Fairgrounds is scheduled to begin again on October 15 and will continue into March, when Central Oregon weather begins to warm again.

The Fair Board has been dedicated to ensuring that Central Oregonians have the ability to continue training and working their horses during the winter months.

“This is a great opportunity to utilize the Indoor Arena at the Crook County Fairgrounds,” said Casey Daly, Fairgrounds Manager. “We have very reasonable rates, and encourage horse enthusiasts to come and ride and enjoy their horses, regardless of the outside temperatures.”

The Indoor Arena will be available Mondays and Fridays from 9:00am to 4:00pm and Tuesday through Thursday from 9:00am to 8:00pm. The cost is $8.00 per ride; $35.00 per rider per month; or $70.00 per family per month. All riding fees help to offset the indoor arena utility costs.

“We encourage everyone to call ahead, as certain events can cause us to close the arena,” said Daly.

Anyone who is interested in obtaining a Riding Permit should contact the Fairgrounds at 541-447-6575.
