Sen. Wyden plans C.O. visit, 3 town halls

Oregon Senator Ron Wyden will hold a news conference on Friday, Jan. 11, on the completion of upgrades at the Ponderosa substation near Prineville, followed by town hall meetings in Sisters, Prineville and Madras.

The Bonneville Power Administration and PacifiCorp have been completing upgrades to the Ponderosa Substation in near Prineville necessary to provide needed electrical power to the Facebook and Apple data centers (server farms) that have located in Central Oregon.

In October 2011, Wyden urged federal power officials to complete the upgrade in order to improve power transmission to the region, in order to promote economic development.

Wyden will hold his annual Deschutes, Crook and Jefferson county town halls on January 11 and 12. Wyden has been holding town halls in every Oregon county every year beginning in 1996.
