Downtown Bend welcomes new businesses
The Downtown Bend Business Association announced three new businesses starting up, two relocations and the current occupancy rate for the fourth quarter of 2012. Occupancy remains at 92%. The rate is based on the number of leased retail/restaurant spaces in the downtown district.
“Occupancy remains even downtown and we are cautiously optimistic as we move into our slower season, “says DBBA Executive Director Chuck Arnold.
Bond Street now has The Cozy Lamb (841 Bond #12-behind Bond Street Barber) offering beautiful clothing for infants. The shop relocated from Minnesota Avenue.
Brooks Street now has a salon and lash bar with EOS Organics (930 Brooks-behind Tres Jolie & Bend Bungalow). The salon is stocked with only true, pure organic hair and skin products.
541 Threads (112 Minnesota) a local apparel company and Dream Pebbles Broom Closet (114 Minnesota) a clothing and accessories shop have both relocated from other locations along Minnesota.
Two new spaces have been leased this quarter. The space at Franklin & Wall (801 Wall-formerly El Jimador) will become a yet-to-be-named diner with a menu that offers a range of specialties including mussels and fries, fried chicken, an array of French inspired burgers, salads, small plates and sides. The space on Wall (915 Wall-formerly Amalia’s) has also been leased. Both restaurant spaces will have new concepts open in the first quarter of 2013.
The DBBA is a private nonprofit organization representing approximately 350 businesses and 85 property owners working to keep Downtown Bend vibrant. The organization is responsible for downtown beautification, cleaning and maintenance, marketing, events, and keeping the business environment healthy.
