Bend pet store hosts pet health fair

KTVZ

Bend Pet Express hosted a health fair on Saturda,y with a variety of information on how to keep your pet healthy.

Along with a low-cost dental screening, pet owners could learn about animal chiropractic work and meet a few retired racing greyhounds.

Also on hand was Dr. Bernadette Hartman, a veterinarian who practices in oils for therapy. She says her oils have helped even the most aggressive dogs to relax and calm down.

Normally, you think of humans using oils, but animals?

“A lot of people think it’s just for humans, or you put it in your shampoo or your shower to make it smell good,” said Hartman.

“But the fact of the matter is that the oils I use they have therapeutic qualities that can heal and get into a cell and really shift on a mind body spirit level and (they’re) also a really good emotional shift for animals or humans that are experiencing things they need to move through.”

Hartman says after she applies the oils to the animals, there is a shift in their behavior in just 10 to 20 minutes.

If you would like to see for yourself, Dr. Hartman encourages you to come visit her at Sage Veterinary Clinic.
