Four Redmond School Board seats in election
The Redmond School District Board of Directors will have four positions available for election during the May 21 special election.
The Redmond School District Board of Directors consists of five members elected to serve overlapping four-year terms as non-salaried trustees of the school district. As elected officials, the board is responsible for the scope, depth and quality of education and is the official policy-making body of the school district.
A person is eligible to serve as a board member if he or she is a registered voter of the district and has been a resident within the district for one year immediately preceding the election. No person who is an employee of the district is eligible to serve as a board member while so employed.
Those interested in serving on the Redmond School District Board of Directors may pick up an application at the Deschutes County Clerk’s office, 1300 NW Wall Street, Suite 200 in Bend, Ore., between the hours of 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. The candidate filing period closes on March 21, 2013, at 5 p.m., followed by elections for the board positions taking place May 21, 2013.
