The Oregon State University – Cascades counseling clinic now offers trauma and reintegration counseling services for veterans and their families.

The free counseling sessions are provided by the graduate counseling program, provide a service to the veteran community, and allow master’s students to develop and implement expertise under the close supervision of faculty and clinical supervisors.

The counseling sessions start on September 30 and participants can attend 11 weekly, 50-minute individual or group sessions. The sessions will be geared towards the needs of veterans as they transition from military to civilian life, with a focus on education and career planning, and mental health prevention and treatment.

Counseling services are provided by graduate students who are receiving supervision in a variety of counseling techniques. Student counselors are trained to help individuals manage stress, anxiety, depression and trauma. Participation in the free veteran counseling requires completing an initial evaluation. Sessions will take place at the Graduate & Research Center in Bend.
