Gingerbread Junction helps Newberry Habitat

KTVZ

Proceeds from the 18th annual Gingerbread Junction at Sunriver Resort, a charity event where members of the community build gingerbread home displays, raised $5,045 to build a real home through Newberry Habitat for Humanity.

This worthy organization will use the funds to help build a home for a qualifying family in the La Pine area in 2014.

A total of 36 award winners in 12 categories were honored in a Gingerbread Junction award ceremony on December 18th. Voting was conducted by a panel of community judges.

“We are very proud to support this worthwhile cause and present Newberry Habitat for Humanity with this donation to further their mission of providing affordable housing for families.” said Tom O’Shea, managing director of Sunriver Resort.

O’Shea presented the awards, along with a check to the Newberry Habitat team, at the awards ceremony in the Abbot Room at the Sunriver Resort Lodge, where the Gingerbread Junction homes will be on display until New Year’s Day.
