Central Oregon Artist Jennifer Lake has finished her painting “Redmond in Summer,” a new original painting depicting the City of Redmond during the summer.

This is the second of two paintings that Jennifer has donated to the City of Redmond to help raise funds for the public art program.

The first painting “Redmond in Winter” was unveiled at Redmond’s holiday parade and was purchased by local residents Frank and Anne Graham.

The ribbon cutting for this second painting will occur right before the 4th of July parade in downtown Redmond at the Arch at 10:00 am. Frank and Anne Graham have already purchased the original painting to complete their Redmond series.

Limited edition prints, greeting cards and postcards can be purchased from Redmond City Hall, 716 SW Evergreen Avenue, starting on June 16, 2014. Prints will be signed by Jennifer Lake and will cost $40.00, greeting cards will cost $2.50 and postcards will cost $0.75.

Prints, postcards and greeting cards will also be for sale at Green Plow Coffee on SW 6th Street in downtown Redmond during the 4th of July parade. All proceeds will go towards Redmond’s public art program.

Jennifer is donating these pieces to RCAPP because she feels that, “A community that supports the “Fine Arts” creates an environment for its citizens like no other . . . . an uniqueness just like the surrounding landscape.”

“We have worked so hard to build a public art program here in Redmond primarily through private fund-raising efforts such as this”, Linda Hill, chairperson for RCAPP added. “We are very grateful to Jennifer for her generous donations and the Grahams for their tremendous support of our program. This is an opportunity for people to own a beautiful new print by Jennifer Lake showcasing all of the beautiful changes in Redmond over the past couple of years at reduced costs while supporting our public art program. It is a win-win situation for everyone.”

Jennifer is a renowned international artist best known for her folk art paintings. Jennifer Lake’s work is cherished by collectors internationally and in the United States, Canada and Japan. Many of her print series have completely sold out.

There are over 400 paintings in the collection and more than one million prints have been sold, making her the most collected artist in the Northwest. Her work has been featured in numerous newspaper articles, magazines and television programs here and abroad; the most exciting of which was her tour in Japan.

Jennifer began her professional painting career over 30 years ago. With a love of American history, nature, and the west, she created a series for New York, Oregon, Washington, and Canada. Her work is a feast of color and minute detail that captivates the eye.
