Officers Serve as Celebrity Waiters/Waitresses for Tip-A-Cop Fundraiser

Red Robin and Law Enforcement to raise funds to benefit Special Olympics

Who: Special Olympics Oregon, local Law Enforcement agencies, and Red Robin

What: Red Robin to host Tip-A-Cop to support Special Olympics Oregon

When: October 11, 2014 11 a.m.-3 p.m.

4 p.m.-8 p.m.

Where: Red Robin; 625 SW Powerhouse Drive, Bend, OR

Why: The Bend Police Department is partnering with Special Olympics Oregon, Red Robin, and other local law enforcement agencies with the goal of raising money for Special Olympics. The National Goal of the 2014 Red Robin “Tip-A-Cop” event is to raise more than $750,000. Oregon’s goal is $52,000. Law enforcement personnel will serve as “celebrity waiters or waitresses” at the Red Robin in the Old Mill District. The tips they receive will be donated to the cause.

Tip-A-Cop generates tremendous community goodwill and public awareness for Law Enforcement and Special Olympics. Tip-A-Cop is a ‘no risk’, easy and fun way to raise money for Special Olympics athletes in your community!

Special Olympics is an international sports organization that encourages and empowers individuals with intellectual disabilities, promoting acceptance for all, and fostering communities of understanding and respect worldwide. Special Olympics Oregon provides individuals with intellectual disabilities continuing opportunities to realize their potential, develop physical fitness, display courage, and experience joy and friendship.
