Ducky, dog shot in face, a happy survivor

KTVZ

A year and a half ago, a dog named Ducky was shot in the face after he ran away from his owners’ property in Terrebonne. He made a full recovery, but unfortunately, his owners couldn’t keep him. So now he needs a new home.

He sure has been through a lot in his two short years.

Karen Burns, Humane Society of Central Oregon shelter manager, described him this way on Wednesday: a “diamond in the rough kind of thing.”

He survived getting hit by a car and shot in the face, and now Ducky is as happy and as healthy as can be.

Unfortunately, the gunshot left him with only one eye.

“It doesn’t slow him down at all,” Burns said. “It doesn’t even really affect his life at all,”

Sure, he runs into a few doors on occasion.

But this special guy sometimes just can’t contain his love.

“He was very rambunctious. He didn’t have a ton of training,” Burns said.

So the staff at the Humane Society of Central Oregon have spent the past few months changing that..

“He is biggest thing is that he wants to please, like he just wants to please his people. He gets more out of that then he does with actual treats,” Burns said.

And now that he has his basic manners down — he’s ready!

“He just is a wonderful dog. and we can’t wait to see him get adopted,” Burns said.

So if you’ve been looking for a new best friend and you’re feeling like a lucky ducky, then Ducky wants to make you feel extra lucky!

“Somebody is going to really luck out with this one,” Burns said. “They just need the time to put into him.”
