Update: Missing Redmond woman safe in Calif.

KTVZ

Two days after turning to the public for help in finding a missing Redmond woman, police said Tuesday she had been found safe in Southern California.

In a posting to its Facebook page, police said Linda Whipple “has been located in Oceanside, California. She is safe and has been in contact with family.”

Police thanked the community “for your support and assistance in this matter.”

On Sunday, police said they were seeking the public’s help in finding Whipple, who hadn’t been seen or attended work since late last month.

Officers in a Facebook posting said such a long period of no contact with Whipple since Dec. 28 was “highly unusual for her,” but added, “There are no signs or indications foul play is involved at this time.”

Police said they had “checked cell phone information and results indicate the phone may have been in the Newport” area. Police there helped check the area, but officers said Whipple and her car were not found.
