Prineville man critical after Juniper Canyon Rd. crash

KTVZ

A 54-year-old Prineville man was in critical condition at a Bend hospital Sunday after experiencing apparent medical issues and crashing his minivan off Southeast Juniper Canyon Road, Crook County sheriff’s deputies said.

Deputies and Crook County Fire and Rescue medics were dispatched around 1:45 p.m. to the scene near milepost 1 in Prineville, said Sgt. Dave Dethman.

The 2001 Chrysler minivan driven by Myrel Henning Jr. was found in a ditch, facing south by the northbound side of the road, Dethman said.

An investigation determined that Henning, the only person in the vehicle, was experiencing medical issues and lost control of the minivan.

Henning first was taken by ambulance to Pioneer Memorial Hospital in Prineville, then flown by AirLink helicopter to St. Charles Bend. A house supervisor said he was in critical condition Sunday night.
