Redmond girl accused of bringing knife to school
A Redmond middle school student was arrested Wednesday, accused of bringing a large knife to school, police and school officials confirmed Thursday.
Police said the girl had the knife on a school bus Wednesday morning and brought it into Elton Gregory Middle School.
Lt. Mike Kidwell said no one was injured, and no students or staff were directly threatened.
Redmond school officials said they were handling the incident under Safe Schools Alliance protocols and were thankful that other students quickly reported the incident.
They said any student who brings a weapon to school can be expelled for at least a year.
