Deschutes SO investigating string of home burglaries
There have been three possibly related burglaries at homes in a subdivision east of Bend in the past two weeks, Deschutes County sheriff’s deputies said Thursday as they urged the public to watch for suspicious activity and to make use of the vacation house check service they offer.
The burglaries have occurred in an area east of Ward Road and south of Dobbin Road, just east of Bend, said sheriff’s Sgt. Deke DeMars.
Detectives “have collected evidence and are working several leads,” DeMars said in a news release.
“Each victim was out of the area, and it was obvious no one was home at the time of the burglaries,” the sergeant added.
Deputies urged the public to keep an eye out for suspicious activity in their neighborhoods, and to communicate with friends, family members or neighbors if you are going to be out of the area.
The sheriff’s office also will perform vacation checks when a request is made. You can request them online at http://www.sheriff.deschutes.org or by phone (541-388-6655) or in person at the sheriff’s office.
Anyone with information about the burglaries is asked to contact non-emergency dispatch at 541-693-6911.
