Warren Buffett’s big deal includes Redmond plant
It’s the largest business deal in Oregon history, and it could affect hundreds in Central Oregon.
Warren Buffett’s Berkshire Hathaway says it’s paying over $37 billion for Precision Castparts, a Portland based company.
At a location in Redmond, PCC Schlosser employs over 300 workers. It’s the third-largest manufacturer in Central Oregon.
Jon Stark, senior manager for Redmond Economic Development, says historically, deals like this can mean positive movement.
“There are opportunities that exist with this type of acquisitions that can again can often help them grow at a faster pace,” he said. “So until the details are worked out and the company determines what that means, we’re optimistic about this acquisition.”
